West of Broadway, North Boulder turns residential and foothills-adjacent: contemporary homes, planned communities, and upscale townhomes tucked against Dakota Ridge. Trail and open-space access is immediate, the foothills views are dramatic, and the streets stay quiet with little through traffic. It trades downtown walkability for setting, and snow near the foothills lingers longer than in town. The evening mountain light here is exceptional just about year-round.
